Renewable energy - often referred to as “clean energy” - comes from natural sources or processes that are constantly replenished. This is as compared to nonrenewable, or “dirty energy”, including fuels such as oil, gas, and coal. Nonrenewable sources of energy are only available in limited amounts and take many lifetimes to replenish.

Mitsubishi Electric provides two systems within this solution category. The photovoltaic (PVESS) solar solution includes skid or site build solutions comprised of 2.5MW to 3.36MW building blocks and central inverter technology. The energy storage solution (BESS) includes containerized or building solutions comprised of 1MWh to 200MWh systems configures as equipment only or full turnkey options (i.e. civil, structural and power designed & engineered & built).

These can be supplied as products, as systems, or as turnkey solutions. Mitsubishi Electric has the ability to meet the customer need, however complex or simple the project may be. This is an important distinction because it speaks to the most valuable part of our solution offering. Mitsubishi is known for high quality, for excellent customer service, and for extremely attractive warranty programs. In an emerging or growing industry segment such as flexible renewable energy, there is a very diverse set of suppliers. Some of the suppliers are startups with new exciting technology. Some of the suppliers are established, but only offering products. Some of the suppliers are professional services organizations that are learning as they progress. For instance, the heart of the inverter is the Mitsubishi Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) which is recognized as an industry-leading building block for power switching and voltage regulation
• Mitsubishi Electric is a manufacturer of switchgear, transformers, UPS, power control systems, power utility equipment, and much more. Unlike battery manufacturers or an engineering company, there is a deep knowledge base and talent that exists in MEPPI. For instance, in most cases, Mitsubishi Electric already possesses safety and performance compliance with power utility standards. Mitsubishi Electric already manufactures and supplies generation, transmission and distribution equipment to C&I and power utility customers.
• We can deliver turnkey solutions to our customers or partners. This means that the Flexible Renewable Energy group has access to power system planning, design, engineering, project management, site management, testing, customer service, and administration resources to fully complete any turnkey project.
