The new 245kV MITS breaker (245MITS) for gas insulated switchgear (GIS) completes our product range of voltages up through 245kV. Among its key benefits, the 245MITS offers independent pole operation in a GIS designed specifically for 245kV applications. Moreover, the 245MITS has a smaller overall footprint compared to previous GIS offerings of the same rating.

 

The 245MITS is designed with historically proven internal components, like the interrupter main/arc contacts, gas puffer components, conductor contacts, and a spring-spring operating mechanism. These are designs that we have successfully applied and have continually advanced.

 

The 245MITS offers a combination of arrangements and additional devices that are highly modular, like fast-acting grounds and GIL ports, designed specifically for ratings up to 245kV.
